Hungering and Thirsting
“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” These words, spoken by Jesus nearly two thousand years ago, echo the heartbeat of our ministry. Like Jesus we recognize that people are thirsty: not in the sense of longing for ice cold water on a hot and sultry day, but in the need for the quenching of a thirsty heart and soul.
Satisfaction in Jesus
All people, whether young or old, have thirsts in their hearts and souls. Life drains the hope, security, peace, love, contentment, and joy that all of us desire. At Sunrise Bible Church we believe that Jesus fills empty hearts of those who trust in Him so that they are satisfied and overflow into the lives of others. That is why Sunrise Bible Church has been preaching, teaching, and magnifying the person and work of Jesus since 1853.
Pastor David Stertz was born and raised in southern Wisconsin. At age five, he was converted through the gospel ministry of his father who is also a pastor. Having a desire to do so at age sixteen, he set a course in his life to pursue pastoral and preaching ministry.
As a result, he earned the Biblical Studies degree at Maranatha Baptist University and a Master of Divinity at Central Baptist Theological Seminary. During his time at Maranatha, he met his wife Casey and they were married. In 2005 he accepted the call to Sunrise as an Assistant Pastor and was later called as Senior Pastor in 2010. Since coming to Sunrise, David and Casey have been blessed with six children.
Pastor Greg Robotti was born and raised in northern Wisconsin. At age fifteen, he was converted through the gospel ministry of Pastor Brad Novak who ministered to his family after a house fire that resulted in the loss of most of their earthly possessions. Greg found himself in and out of church until 1999 when he and Karen started faithfully to attend and were married later that year.
God continued to graciously grow in him a desire to minister and serve others through the church which led to pursuing a Biblical Studies degree at Maranatha Baptist University. Through different life circumstances he finished his last few credits online through Liberty University. God has graciously allowed him to serve as a Youth Pastor for 5 years and a Senior Pastor for 12 years before accepting the call to join the pastoral team at Sunrise as an Associate Pastor in 2021. Over the past 21 years God has blessed Greg and Karen with 8 children.
